“A picture speaks a thousand words”, I am sure we have all heard this at some point in our lives. The impact a single photograph can have is truly inspiring and touching in so many ways. It captures the emotions of individuals in a particular moment and time stands still even years from the event itself. This, coupled with the privilege of meeting a variety of people from such different backgrounds connecting in truly unique ways is what drew me to photography. Photography is an instant moment. Within the snap of a finger, you either capture that moment or loose it forever.
Although I have been doing professional photography for quite some time now, including family portraits, maternity, newborn, family, senior and lifestyle sessions nothing excites me as much as wedding photography. I am a San Antonio Wedding Photographer who is a romantic at heart and believes in a love that lasts. The sheer trust that people put in me when they hire my services to tell their story is exhilarating. I'd like to believe that I am a capturer of moments and a vivid storyteller. I fell in love with covering weddings since I genuinely adore working with people and couples who are truly and madly in love. The way the two look in to each other’s eyes, the connection they have without having to utter a word and warmth and joy you feel all around you that can light up a room. That to me is the best feeling in the entire world. What’s even more wonderful is that we live in a country that celebrates diversity and inclusion, where the concept of love and marriage is respected regardless of your gender and race. Everything about a wedding from the big things to the tiniest details and the way it all comes together seems magical. The way families merge, the intensity of the emotions and a love that conquers all sounds right out of a fairy tale.
Being a wedding photographer is not just about clicking the shutter at the right time. It involves building relationships, offering emotional support, coordinating the family dynamics and understanding when to step in to ease last-minute nerves and problems.
Capturing the right shot is a balance of beauty, color, and contrast but above all, it is the emotions a moment entails. It seizes a feeling in time which stirs up a mix of emotions for all those who take a look at the picture. It tells a story about a time that once was which gets you to reminiscence about one of the best days of your life. With it, it makes you relive every second almost as if transporting you back in time. As Aaron Siskind said, “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” and I could not agree more.
